TThe Transit of Venus across the Suns face on June 8th 2004 was a very rare event, the last time this occured was in 1882!

The image to the left shows the Planet Venus sillouhetted against the sun's disk, which looks a bit mottled due to it being a rather cloudy day, but at least we got to see it!
